Are You looking for a manager / Unit Head who possesses Multi-functional Skills in CNC/PLC Machines and IT (Computer Programming) ?

I am working as manager in Automobile (Engine) Manufacturing Plant and possess almost 17 years of work experience.Mechanical Engineering is my principle discipline but I have achieved remarkable proficiency in other Engineering disciplines as well as Computer Programming.
CNC / PLC Controlled machines is my primary field of interest and expertise. Having being trained at SIEMENS India and FANUC Japan, I possess professional skills and expertise to handle all functions related to these machines - be it CNC/PLC Selection, Input/Output calculations, finalyzing Electrical Circuits, I/O wiring, Panel building, Installation/Commissioning of CNC/PLC, Ladder (Machine Logic) writing.... even machining programmes.... In short I can handle complete retrofit projects single-handedly. I have successfully completed several projects on a variety of Turning machines, Machining Centers, SPMs, Transfer lines, Grinding machines,Material handling loaders/manipulators......Being a Mechanical Engineer gives me added advantage to easily understand and troubleshoot/modify Hydraulic Circuits and various machine functions like Tool Changers, Rotary Tables, spindles, Gear boxes, slides etc..
The other area in which I have deep interest and professional skills is Computer Programming. I keep on developing Applications on various platforms like Visual Basic, C, Access, Flash, Java, HTML... These customized applications are primarily developed and implemented to enhance performance of my department.

Some of the applications developed by me are :

1. SPC (Statistical Process Control) Monitoring -

plx.gif (8919 bytes)  Developed in Visual Basic, the software takes actual sizes obtained on machines during machining operation. It does various statistical calculations and gives Process Capability related information like Cp, CpK along with graphical plots like "Run-Charts", Histograms and Statistical Distribution curve. A comprehensive printout is also generated by the system. This application is helping our company to improve manufacturing processes and move towards Six-Sigma Manufacturing Standards.

2. Rotary Table Indexing Mechanism -

Developed in FLASH, this application explains indexing mechanism of a CNC rotary table. Along with visual simulation, it has various audio sounds for realistis effect and shows synchronized hydraulic solenoids operation as well as feedback devices like limit switches. It is used as highly effective training tool to train Maintenance staff to help them understand complete machine functioning.

3. Machines Breakdown Management and Analysis -

Developed in ACCESS, it takes as input breakdown details such as date and time of reporting and handover, problem reported and work done. The software then calculates downtime taking into account different shift timings, lunch break, holidays and sundays.
Thereafter it generates reports(Weekly/Monthly) where the machines are grouped linewise, show time lost(Hrs:Mins as well as %age), gives exception machines list(Breakdown > 10%) and monthly tabulated summary(daywise time lost matrix). Ideal for MIS and attacking machines having recurring problems. It also groups records machinewise which gives complete breakdown history and Uptime of varius machines.

4. CNC Part Program's Cycle Time Estimation Software -

Developed in ACCESS and Visual Basic, it is developed specifically for MITSUBISHI Machining Center. It gives blockwise, toolwise and cumulative cycle time for a given part program. It also generates machining summary giving Cutting Speeds and Feeds used and is an ideal tool for cycle time optimization and troubleshooting programs for nagging quality issues and cutting down manufacturing costs.

Qualification :

Bachelor of Engineering(B.E) from IIT - Roorkee in 1985

The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) is one of the best in India. I had three job offers through In-Campus recruitment and chose to join India's most reputed group the TATAs in July 1985.

In 1989 I got admission offer from India's topmost Management Institute, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM - Banagalore) but could not pursue higher studies.

Work Experience :      1985 - till date

1. PT P.H.Engineering, Indonesia  - July1996  - till date

Truck Manufacturing Company  - I am responsible for Machines maintenance and refurbishment  of over 200 machines in Engine Plant. Also responsible for SPC (Statistical Process Control) Implementation and CNC Machines Productivity Improvement.

  2. Telco India  - July,1985 - June,1996

Telco (TATA Engineering) is India's oldest and most reputed automobile Company and has developed and manufactured indigenously a wide range of world class Automobiles. The company started in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz in 1954.
I started my career in Manufacturing ( CNC Machines Shop) and later worked in Machines Maintenance.

Multi-discipline expertise in Electronics, Computer Programming and Mechanical Engineering sets me apart from others. Apart from Manufacturing, I can play lead role in Industrial Control Systems Integration, developing Engineering and Programming Solutions for Machines as well as Data Acquisition and Process Control systems. I have exceptional analytical skills, can accurately pinpoint the root cause of malfunction in logic or machines and come out with innovative technical solutions to overcome the problem. I am conversant with all the leading shop practices like Six-Sigma, ISO 9000 etc.
